In the past week, you may have seen red hearts circulating on Facebook. It’s a sort of “game” where people ask each other to post a heart on their Facebook wall to honor breast cancer awareness. One breast cancer survivor, Erin Smith Chieze, decided to help women fight breast cancer in a different way….
“Someone once posted a picture on Facebook of what breast cancer can look like. Not feel, but look like. In December of 2015 when I saw an indentation that looked like one of those pictures, I instantly knew I had breast cancer,” Erin wrote next to a picture she posted on Facebook. The photo shows how different lemons represent different breast cancer symptoms, such as invisible lumps, dimpling, indentation, and more. “We need to give REAL information, not cute hearts,” Erin wrote. And her photo along with the message has gone viral on Facebook since with over 13k likes and 28k shares. Check out the photo below or Erin’s full post on Facebook.
