She Cuts Soap Into Cubes, Then Microwaves It. I Need This For My Next Shower

In this charming tutorial, Debbie Chialtas of Soapylove.com via Kin Community demonstrates a ridiculously easy way to make exfoliating soap at home. While you can buy exfoliating soap from a store, many of the varieties available are expensive or contain irritants to which you might be sensitive. This alternative is much more customizable and can be made using ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen or bathroom.

To complete this project, all you need is white glycerin soap base, an exfoliant of your choice (oatmeal, coffee grounds, ground loofah, etc.), your favorite essential oils (in the video, Chialtas uses lavender and orange), and a mold to form your soap. Once you’ve poured your soap into the mold, you can spray it with rubbing alcohol to eliminate bubbles before letting it harden. If you’re feeling particularly creative, you can package the finished product with decorative shrink wrap or pretty patterned paper.
We’re completely enamored with the simplicity of this process, and we adore the opportunities to exercise our creativity in making the soap. Watch the tutorial in the video below, and be sure to tell us which ingredients you would include in your soap. I think that oatmeal soap with a hint of grapefruit essential oil would be a wonderfully revitalizing combination.
