SNL’s Katie Mary Rich makes her living writing comedy.
Wait, strike that, she makes a living writing for Saturday Night Live.
It’s understandable that someone who is ostensibly striving to be a comedy writer would get caught up in the moment and try out a joke or tasteless pun, just to see the reaction.
But Rich’s comment goes well beyond that. It’s indicative of a sick, partisan tone spreading across the Beltway and the Manhattan cocktail circuit.
It’s the cruel kind of callousness and contempt for anyone who doesn’t share ‘progressive’ sensibilities that the left can thank for getting Donald Trump elected.
On Friday the day of Trump’s Inauguration, Rich had the nerve to tweet this out:
While Rich deleted it, it didn’t take long, however, for members of the media and other Twitter followers to notice the heartless tone of her message.
'member when the three networks led their evening newscasts w/ a story about a congressional aide who criticized the Obama girls? I 'member. pic.twitter.com/6k0oPQmuJ1

Another callous tweet about Barron Trump:

Yet more Barron Trump hate:
I’m gonna say it. I HATE Barron Trump. He always looks bored, tired, and smug. At least pretend like you were raised right. #Inauguration

There is a backlash to Rich’s comments, however, this is coming from the American people; not the Democrat palace guards who protect them and their children, but throw the GOP and their families to the wolves.

Remember all the times Malia and Sasha Obama were called “off limits,” just like Chelsea Clinton before her? This unspoken rule has extended even beyond when the children have grown up into young adults, and have either been involved in politics or are otherwise able to handle themselves.
There has been Internet gossip about the Obama girls, who are just being teenagers, and thus, should not be involved in political quarreling.
It looks like some members of the media want to tear up the rule book and declare open season on Trump and his family, just because they hate the man that much.
But take a look at his son Barron, playing a game of peek-a-boo with Ivanka’s youngest son Teddy.
Too cute right? It’s unfortunate and sad that some members of the media see a future mass shooter.
